To know me is to know my love for product. I've spent the past six months or so working on a quality over quantity mentality when it comes to all things product, and it's been a game changer. Instead of basically hoarding product that sort of works, I've started to hone in on what is amazing and really works for me.
Despite the fact that summer is almost over and I've been meaning to share these with y'all since June, here are my must-have Summer products:
Bumble + Bumble Dry Spun - My philosophy on hair: Bigger is better. And this little gem helps me achieve maximum height. And the best part: maintain maximum height throughout the day. It's kind of like a hair spray texture, but...not. You spray a little at the root and tease. When the humidity inevitably flattens your hair, use your fingers to tousle it a bit and it pops right back up to all of it's previously teased glory. It's amazing and wonderful and now part of my forever family.
BB Foam Wash Shampoo / Conditioner - I heard the angels sing when I finally found my new salon / stylist. It took a year and a half to find The One after decided I just can't keep driving 4 hours to Georgia to use my old one. Upon recommendation of one of my Twitter BFFs Ashley, I tried the Morgan Ashley Salon and fell in love. Bonus points that it's a B+B salon. I've been a B+B Thickening line user for years, but was turned on to the Foam Wash line during my first appointment and it's now my summer go-to. It goes hand-in-hand with the Surf Spray and creates amazing texture for the summer months. Try it. You won't be sorry.
BB Surf Spray - I started using this last year and it was a game changer. It adds texture without weighing my hair down and gives the feel and look of beach hair, which we all know is amazing.
Hawaiian Tropics After Sun Hydrating Lotion - Full Disclosure: I probably never would have purchased this stuff if I hadn't previously gotten a sample size from somewhere. But I'm glad I did. It's an aloe/moisturizer mixture that not only feels amazing on your skin after a day in the sun, but keeps your skin from drying out, too. The smell doesn't hurt, either.
Mary Kay CC Cream - While full makeup is sometimes necessary in the summer, I try to get away with minimal as much as possible. Most weekend runs into town involve only two things: mascara and CC Cream. This is my first year using the MK CC cream and it's just as amazing as the $50+ brands I've tired, for less than half the price.
I'm always on the look out for new finds. What are your summer go-tos?
