...Is, first and foremost, FOOTBALL WEEK. Here's a little something to help you get your mind right. (Full Disclosure: I may have had chills and teared up.)
...I am taking some baby steps in moving forward with a complete career change. I'm just (pre)testing the waters right now, but it is overwhelmingly terrifying and exhilaratingly peaceful, all at the same time.
...I'm hitting pause on some projects that have been weighing on my heart for the past year or so for a couple of reasons. 1) I want to give them a little more time to develop, and 2) I'm finally accepting that I just cannot do it all. I'm having to make some tough decisions and intentional choices, and sometimes that means not taking on everything all at once.
...I'm getting back to what matters most. And that begins with a thorough purging / getting-my-crap-together palooza.
...I'm pulling the plug on renovations. Why? BECAUSE IT IS NOT FUN, INTERNET. I don't know who these people are that pretend to like this sort of thing, but I'm convinced that they are lying liars who lie. Painting a room? No problem! A little bit of landscaping? Sure! Pulling up carpet to put down subfloor in one room? Meh...but okay. Trying to completely restore a house that was neglected for the better part of 20 years? NO, THANK YOU. I'm done. I'm finished. I'm out. I've had enough. I am not a remodeling kind of gal. It is not fun for me; it is torture. It's hell. So we're going to make a few more basic edits and put it up for sale as a fixer-upper (because apparently some people who aren't me like that sort of thing). If you were to ask me to give you my top three pieces of advice, one of those would absolutely, without a doubt be: DO NOT BUY A HOUSE THAT NEEDS MORE THAN A FEW WEEKENDS WORTH OF WORK.
